City running is a worldwide concept of sightseeing so our Running Tours Budapest team decided to check it out in Barcelona. One of the tours picked by
us was the Montjuic Hill workout as this reminded us of our Heart Beat Tour in Budapest. The 176m high hill has plenty things to offer for a running tour.
First of all a demanding terrain with some steep ascents, also many highlights
to see for a curious tourist. The mighty palace Palau Nacional awaits us at
Plaça Espanya, passing the Spanish Village, hearing stories about Formula 1
races, climbing up to the fortress and having amazing views over Barcelona, the
sea and the back country. All the efforts are forgotten with this views and
when we pass the Olympic Park of 1992 we will remember why we do this - "faster,
higher, stronger!" While descending we could also admire at one of the
coolest things I have ever seen: an open-air swimming pool with a fantastic
view to the city!
Well, we can reconfirm that
sightseeing running is a must do activity for a runner. No matter on what
running level are you on, or how many hours slept before, get rid of your fears
and try it, as this is an unbeatable experience!
